Turning Point

Situated at the northwest corner of The Lawn at the John Brown house, wraps a peculiar angled and whitewashed fence. It’s perimeter pattern repeats in undulating curves and angled corners, opening apertures through which those on the street peer through to glimpse the grandiosity within.
Abstracting the tip of the fence post, a device meant for separation suddenly becomes a module of unity. Through varying applications, this pavilion creates new points of access, breaking ground and providing a turning point that shines light on this site’s shadowed past.
